FACULTY POSITIONS IN SOFT MATTER
The Centre for Soft Matter Research (CSMR), Bangalore, India, invitesapplications from Indian nationals for faculty positions in Soft Matter- Physics or Chemistry. Candidates having a Ph.D. in experimental Soft Condensed Matter Physics or Synthetic Bio-organic/Polymeric Chemistry and at least 2-3 years of postdoctoral experience with an established record of independent research may apply.Candidates with more research experience may also apply and will be considered for faculty positions at a higher level. CSMR is an autonomous institute under the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India and provides a congenial academic atmosphere for research in basic sciences and applications. The responsibility of a faculty member is to do original research in his/her area, guide students for Ph.D. degree and interface with ongoing research in soft matter in the Centre. The current soft matter research activities at the Centre are in thermotropic and lyotropic liquid crystals, surface science, polymers and related fields.
